{07.15.10, 09:39pm} Dave Williams: Way to go Natasha & Aaron! There are a lot of parallels in how you hold a camera steady and press the shutter release, and holding a firearm steady and pull the trigger. Both activities also involve the use of dominant eye, controlled breathing, practicing, precision, attention to detail, etc.
How about the verb of what we do: we SHOOT! It shouldn't be surprising that some "gear-centric" people gravitate to an interest in both pro camera gear and firearms & ammo. Lauren's final point about having backup protection while on urban shoots is very true - My carry choice is a Springfield XD 40. {07.13.10, 10:18am} Lauren | Pegasus Photography: I love it!! I've carried my Sig P230 in my Shootsac before (also not to a shoot, but just while traveling). The pockets are PERFECT to nestle my handgun and it is totally concealed. I would not carry at a wedding but I have thought about bringing it along for urban portrait shoots in potentially sketchy (but photogenically AWESOME) locations. Two thumbs up from me. :) |
