Today, our travels take us to Tanzania which is in East Africa where we're hanging with Karine Ardault! Karine has quite an amazing story:
"I am Karine Ardault. I am French and was born in Paris. While I enjoyed photography when I was younger, I did not follow this path at first. I went to law school and became a humanitarian law lawyer. I assist the international community in fighting impunity for the most heinous crimes. In 2005, I moved to East Africa for my job. Since then I have been living in Arusha, Tanzania at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro.
I live with my boyfriend who is a pilot / photographer, my Labrador (Cuddle) and our pygmy hedgehog (Muffin). I thought then that it would be great to take back photography as Tanzania is such a beautiful country. I started with wildlife and fine art photography and then was asked to do weddings, portraits, events and commercial photography. Arusha is a small community and it is important to practice different kind of photography. I love all the different aspects of photography. All are very demanding in their own way and let me develop all different aspects of photography. I also enjoy processing photos and printing them or our professional photo printer. I exhibit my photos in Arusha and sell them online. While I shoot mostly with a digital camera (a Nikon D300 - yes, I am a Nikon girl) I do medium format with my Rolleiflex, large format with a 4x5 view camera, Polaroid (with peel apart and integral films) and I love using old cameras (my latest is a pocket folding camera from the 1920s)."
About the SHOOTSAC Karine says:
"I love my Shootsac and I always use it while I am shooting for weddings, portraits, events and commercial. All I need during the shoot is there. On top it does not go in the way of my movements, I do not feel it, it is so light."
Check out Karine!
Thanks Karine!

Today, travel with us to the land of next year's BIGGEST and MOST FAB wedding: England!! Our friends Andy ... Amy has this to say:
"Although not new to photography we are new to the business of photography. Amy is a full-time graphic designer and photographer
working for a university's students' union, whilst Andy is a landscape photography enthusiast, who will happily get up at 3am on a
Sunday morning to make the 3 hour drive to the Lake District, just to capture the morning light.
Amy has a photography and fine art background, having studied photography and art at school and college, then going on to complete
a degree in fine art that specialised in photography. Having loved film photography and processing her images in the darkroom, she
was reluctant to embrace digital, but is now fully immersed in digital shooting. Andy is a completely self-taught photographer,
who has been shooting for around 5 years now.
We are currently in the process of setting up a photography business specialising in wedding and lifestyle photography. It's early
days and we are slowly building up our gear, researching our market and gaining as much experience as possible. We are really
excited about working together and combing our different photography skills and look forward to one day achieving our dream to
become professional photographers."
Check out a few photos of Amy ... Andy in action!
Here's what they said about their SHOOTSACS:
"We LOVE them :) They are exactly what we were looking for and we are really pleased with them - comfy, practical AND stylish."

Today, travel with us to the Great North: Canada! Our friend Lyndsay has this to say:
"Well, I'm pretty new at this. I picked up my first digital SLR in January 2010 and started shooting friends to learn how to turn and my camera and such. After learning a bunch and reading a zillion blogs, I got my own blog in February, 2010. Once that was in place, I officially started my business in Vancouver, Canada. Mostly, I have been shooting portraits and weddings. So far it's been an amazing journey. I have such a long way to go before I have everything established the way I would like and I can take the photos I am striving for, but I love learning so much and I am pretty thrilled with how well it has gone so far! Here is my blog-site: www.lyndsaylondonblog.com. Feel free to drop by and say "hi" :)!"
And she shares this about her Shootsac:
"My opinion is that the Shootsac is super high quality material and very comfortable to wear. I feel safe with putting my lenses in there - I trust that they will be well protected. It's easy to use for getting my lenses in and out and it looks good."
Lyndsay, thanks for sharing your story with us, and for being so gosh-darned adorable!! More to come every day this week, so stay with us!

SHOOTSAC AROUND THE WORLD!! DAY 1: THE NETHERLANDS
For a LONG time, people in other countries asked us, "Why don't you ship here?". Well, we heard you and now we do! No matter what country you live in, you can now buy a Shootsac or cover on our International website, www.shootsacinternational
Well, that just wasn't enough! It turns out that people in other lands also want to play when we have our promotions, like FREE SHIPPING FRIDAY, the one random Friday per month that we offer FREE US shipping! As you might guess, International shipping is quite a bit more expensive than shipping here, so we haven't opened up that promotion abroad.
UNTIL THIS WEEK!!
FOR THREE DAYS ONLY: The 19th-21st of THIS MONTH (That is Friday-Sunday), we are offering FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!! Yes, you USA customers can participate too. The only requirement? That you be a resident of Planet Earth. Other planets will have to wait :)
To celebrate this ONE TIME ONLY deal, this week, I will be featuring a person and story from a different land every day! You'd be surprised how many places our Shootsac has shown up :)
To kick things off, we have Astrid Termaat from the Netherlands!
Astrid Says:
"I live with my husband and 8 year old son in a little town in the Netherlands and I've been a hairdresser for 25 years. For years I photographed as a hobby, two years ago I wanted to go to a Professional Photography School (and I did). Next year I graduate! In February 2010 I opened a little photo studio in our home town and started with portrait photography. Then a couple asked me to shoot their wedding, that is when I fell in love with wedding photography! I shot 14 weddings in my first year and I think it's the best job in the world.
I love my Shootsac, used it at two weddings and I can't do without it now! First I was dragging a big camera bag, now I leave that in the car when I'm shooting the bride and groom session and only take the lenses I need."
Astrid, thank you for sending this to us!
More stories coming to you EVERY DAY this week!

It's THANKFUL MONTH here at Shootsac, and I love seeing emails from all of you of what you are thankful for! If YOU are thankful for something, please email a photo of it to flamingo@shootsac.com!
"I'm so thankful for my husband Clark and our baby girl Lily Mae. They are both such gracious blessings from God, and I'm so thankful for His faithfulness to provide everything our family could ever need. Through the joyful times and also the trials, God is forever with us, and I'm grateful that He's given me a beautiful family to enjoy!"
The photo: me and Lily Mae (she hangs out in my sling while I shoot) on a church event photo shoot (with my Shootsac, of course! Hubs has my camera!) "

Last week, I asked everyone out there to send in photos of things they are THANKFUL for! One common thread so far is that you are thankful for your children!
Lori Collett says:
"I'm thankful for my life, which was almost taken from me when I had my second baby. The doctors performed a miracle that day, and because of it, I was able to have my third and final baby, my sweet Gretchen. I'm thankful for me, and that I can be here to raise my three gorgeous children."
Here's Lori:
And her three gorgeous children!
Want to share what you're thankful for?? We want to know! Just send us an email to flamingo@shootsac.com!

This month, as everyone here in the USA knows, is all about THANKSGIVING! Yes, it's about sharing meal with your family and friends, but moreso, it's about giving thanks to those who have been good to you.
I propose that we make this an ALL MONTH EVENT, instead of just one silly day! If you're anything like me, you've got a lot more to be thankful for than you can cram in on one day, right?
What are you thankful for? EMAIL ME a photo of something you are thankful for along with two to three sentences about what it means to you. It doesn't matter if you live in America, Canada, or another country that doesn't have Thanksgiving--no matter where you are, we want to know what you are giving thanks for this month. I'll be posting these little mini-stories up here on the blog ALL MONTH LONG!
I can't wait to see your emails and photos pour in!
