"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." George Bernard Shaw
When I first moved into my house in Ladera Ranch three years ago, it was the first time I'd ever lived on my own. Since previously I had just been renting a room and an office in someone elses' larger home, I didn't own much! The first thing I did was go furniture shopping, where I essentially filled my two bedroom town house that very day.
Most of the furniture I bought (well, ALL of it if you want to get technical) was furniture that looked like it would be completely appropriate in my mother's house in Cary, North Carolina. It was all within the range of fall-colored neutrals, brown leather, and Pottery Barn. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, but also nothing that would give the impression to anyone that I, JESSICA, lived there.
Over the next couple of years, I started really looking around at the world around me and how people I knew decorated their homes so that you would really FEEL who those people were when you walked into their homes. I started thinking about what might represent me--what style really belonged in my home! Just yesterday, I moved into a new house, and I'm leaving my old look behind.
I want people to know who I am the minute I walk through the front door, and I finally feel like I am BOLD enough to wear my style on my sleeve! Photos coming soon....
Who do you want to be known as in the world? Now you can start letting the world know, one COVER at a time!
